Metro Psych Facility is an open psychiatric hospital that provides an opportunity for alternative care for individuals needing psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation. Here, the emphasis is creating a supportive and nurturing environment coupled with ongoing and appropriate services from trained and experienced staff and consultants.

Objectives:

• To reduce and control signs and symptoms of psychiatric illness.
• To help clients function with increased level of independence.
• To provide shelter for individuals in acute situational crisis (e.g. rape, spousal abuse, etc.)
• To facilitate personal growth and satisfaction with living

The program offers a balanced program that takes into account the individual’s need for contact with others, privacy, assistance, therapy, and skills development to achieve a more satisfying lifestyle.

Metro Psych Facility offers both short and long term treatment services. Clients receive individualized treatment during their stay from a combination of professional resources available. Yet, because they live in close proximity to one another, friendships are forged. From these connections with one another, evolves a sense of family and community. Individual patients who are socially isolated are encouraged to extend themselves to others and learn to ask for help. This promotes a sense of belonging and acceptance.
